International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship at Tongji — March2027 semester

Tongji funds tuition, standard accommodation, CNY2500/month living allowance and CNY400/person semester comprehensive medical insurance for March–July2027 study (five-month funding). The university normally provides a free twin room according to actual dormitory availability. Only if no campus room is available, and after student application and Tongji approval, off-campus support of CNY700/month is paid monthly or quarterly; it is not unlimited rent reimbursement. Students first buy insurance after arriving in China; the school reimburses the specified amount to the student’s bank account the following month. Both central and Tongji applications are required by 25 October2026, with no school application fee. The linked HTTPS CLEC entry has an Apply action; the current Tongji brochure separately lists its university application system as http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn. A verified HTTPS replacement for that mandatory school system has not been established, so follow the official brochure’s instructions or contact iss@tongji.edu.cn. The published benefits do not promise unspecified travel/visa reimbursements; payment and cancellation conditions apply.

Требования к кандидатам

  • For new applicants to Tongji’s one-semester, non-degree Chinese Language and Literature scholarship route, entering March2027 and completing July2027; funding lasts five months. This is an admission award, not an enrolled-students-only prize; selection is competitive and an award is not guaranteed.
  • Non-Chinese citizen; friendly to China with no criminal record; comply with Chinese law and university rules; good physical/mental health, academic and behavioral standing; interested in Chinese language education/teaching and related work. A recommending institution is required at application.
  • Age18–35 on 1 September2026; the limit extends to45 for in-service Chinese teachers. Tongji’s university-specific lower age is18.
  • The semester Chinese Language and Literature direction requires HSK Level3 at least180 and an HSKK score report, within their two-year validity. Applicants whose passports contain X1 or X2 visa records are not admitted to this semester route.
  • The university application window is 25 September–25 October2026. Complete both the CLEC scholarship application and Tongji’s international-student online application before the school deadline. The school application fee is waived. The central October31 deadline does not extend Tongji’s earlier October25 deadline.
  • All semester applicants submit: passport photo-page scan; valid HSK/HSKK report scans; a recommending institution head’s signed recommendation scan; and a medical certificate within six months or a valid Chinese visa page. Master’s-only materials in the brochure are not requirements for this non-degree semester award. Tongji may request supplements; upload all required documents and bring originals at registration. Falsified materials cancel admission.
  • In-service Chinese teachers supply employer proof and a recommendation for equal-conditions priority; Chinese Bridge scholarship-certificate holders apply with their award certificate under the official procedure. Register as required in the admission notice; failed medical examination, withdrawal, unauthorized late registration or suspension cancels eligibility.
  • Living allowance is full for registration by the15th inclusive and half for later registration. Personal absence from China exceeding15 days outside winter/summer holidays suspends the allowance during the absence; suspension, withdrawal or disciplinary action stops payment from the corresponding date. Payment for completers runs to half a month after the university-confirmed completion date.
